February 23, 2011. 10 pm. Another clear night and another adventure for the moon. I am trying to understand why the moon that was once visible every night, I now can not find. The moon should be approximately only 60 to 70% visible.
Within this blog you will see a gradual description of the changes that are occuring with the moon on a daily basis.

clear night.. still no moon
February 22, 2011. 9 30 pm. I am officially confused. I can not find the moon it is a clear night. I will go out later tonight again and see if i can find it, but it seems to not want to make an appearance lately. The moon should be deminishing still in size and most likely approx. 80% visible.
Where is the moon???
February 22, 2011. 10 pm and a few times after, I could not find the moon anywhere, not even its light shining through the clouds. The weather was cold and very cloudy. Once again i have to go off my observations of the past to attempt to predict what the moon looks like tonight.

No moon.. no picture
February 20, 2011, 10 pm to 11pm. I went outside numerous times tonight and could not see the moon. I do not know if it is because i was in a different location or if the sky was just filled with dense clouds. I can only guess what the moon looks like from my previous observations. I would predict that the moon is still diminishing in size and with the rate of how fast it diminishes i would say it is approx. 85 to 90 % visible tonight. Here is a picture of what i believe the moon would look like tonight if i had seen it.
bye man!
February 19, 2011. 10pm. tonight i could not get a clear picture because every where i went the moon was hiding behind the trees. It was clear out tonight, but the picture i have does not do what i saw justice. The moon is shrinking in size, but it is not as small as what it appears in my picture. In this case the web picture is crucial to show you what the moon actually looked like. The moon i would say is approximately 90 to 95% visible.
Dissappearing act
February 18, 2011. 10pm. The moon still appears to be 100% visible, but seems that it may be starting to diminish in size. However the side of the moon that appeared to me becoming more visible with time is not the side that is staying in tact and the other side of the moon is becoming less visible. It was once again a clear and very warm night for February. Here is what i saw...
Full moon
February 17, 2011. 10 pm. Tonight the moon is finally 100% visible. It was a clear night and the moon was shining brightly. I was not in my usual location for this picture which is at my house in Putnam Valley, instead i was in Fishkill not too far from home. Tonight was a great night to take the moon picture because it was clear skies and warmer then its been lately. Here you can see the entire man on the moon!

Cloudy
February 16, 2011. 10 pm tonight was very cloudy and the moon was peaking through only every once in a while. The moon is near complete at approx. 95% full, i believe in a night or two it will be a full moon. The picture I took doesnt give the moon justice tonight. The clouds made it very hard to get a good shot. Here are my pictures and one that represents more of what i was able to see with my eyes.

Almost Full
February 15th, 2011. 9 30 pm. The moon is growing and is almost completely full. I would say it is approximately 85 to 90% visible and only days away from being complete. The tempatures have dropped tonight, but the sky was clear.

changing weather.. changing moon.
February 13, 2011. 10pm. Today was a warm day, snow is starting to melt, as we fell into night and the temperatures dropped, clouds started to come out. The moon is still getting progressively larger. Just the other day it was almost half full and now im starting to see more of the man on the moon. About 80% of it is visible and this is what it looks like,

Nothing in the sky but clouds HOWEVER!
February 13, 2011. 10 pm. Tonight I went out side and when i looked up i saw no stars because it was an overcast of clouds. I didnt think i would be able to see the moon, however the moon being so bright and the clouds moving fast and not being too dense allowed to moon to appear clearly. You can see the clouds moving around the moon quite fast. The moon is still getting larger, not too much larger then last night, but still visibly growing.
A few rolling clouds
February 12, 2011. approx. 10pm. There were a few clouds in the sky but they were moving fast and they were small soo it didnt hinder seeinging the moon, in fact it made the sky more beautiful. The moon is growing in size still, from my understanding we are in the waxing gibbous moon phase. I would approximate that 65% of the moon was showing today.

Seeing more of the man
February 11, 2011 10pm. Today the night is once again very clear and I am able to see the stars and the moon with full visibility. The moon itself is becoming more visible, it appears to be growing. At this time it seems that approximately half the moon is visible or just slightly more.
Day 1, a clear night
February 10, 2011.10 pm. Day one of my moon phase blog and what a perfect night to start. Tonight the sky was clear and from where I live in Putnam Valley you can see hundred of stars. The moon is slightly less then half visible and the brightness seems to fade and you look into the center of where the other half should be. My pictures are not too clear, however I have posted a picture next to mine that gives a better view of what I was seeing tonight.
